Salwa Palace Turaif district

The image represents the façade of the Turaif district which dates to the early 18th century. It was registered in UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010. Turaif is one of five Saudi sites listed on the World Heritage List this in addition to the fact that it is considered one of the largest cities made of mud walls in the world. The building shown at the façade of the Turaif district is for Salwa Palace, the largest palace in the district, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. The palace is historically known as the home of the country's first founders. It was the seat of government in the era of the first Saudi state “Emirate of Diriyah”
