Al Maqar Palace

It may look like an architectural masterpiece on the outside, but the real treasure lies within. It is located in Al-Namasand is considered a museum in terms of exterior design and content. This palace was built by a citizen who was inspired by Andalusian palaces and who worked on collecting Islamic artifacts dating back to the Abbasid, the Umayyad and the Ottoman periods, where each period is exposed on a floor. The palace took35 years to build, using over two million natural stones from the mountains of Asir, making it a rare work of art and a new twenty-first century Saudi landmark.
